But what makes roses so popular especially during the summer and how has this type of wine come of age by shedding its association with the Sutter Home White Zinfandel of years past? 2016 Shaping up to be a good year for Midwest Wineries

By all accounts, this summer promises to be a good one for grape growers in the Midwest. After several brutal winters which had a negative impact on grape harvests, it seems that the ship has been righted and that we can expect good yields for most (if not all) varietals that are grown in the Midwest. Temperatures have been relatively mild, there has been rain, and many vineyards have started dropping clusters so that the grapes left on the vine can receive the maximum amount of nutrition and strength from the shoots they are on.
